Description

The Seven Churches of the Apocalypse 4 Nights - 5 Days

(cities to whose churches were addressed the letters of the apocalypse:
Esm, rna, efeso, laodicea, tiatira, pergamo, philadelphia and sardes)

DAY 1: ISTANBUL / TROYA / CANAKKALE   (desayuno / almurzo / cena )
In the morning departure by bus to Canakkale, located on the Asian Shore of the Dardanelles Strait. Continuation to Troy, famous ancient city that evokes by itself only another poetic name; Iliad of Homer. Visit of the Trojan Horse that served to hide the warriors. Dinner and accommodation in Canakkale.

DAY 2: CANAKKALE / PERGAMO / TIATIRA / KUSADASI  (desayuno / almurzo / cena )
Breakfast and departure to Pergamo. The evangelization of Pergamum is related to Saint John the Evangelist and his disciples. The importance comes to him because his angel is the recipient of one of the letters to the Seven Churches. Visit the Acropolis where we will find the steepest theater in the world, the Temple of Trajan, the Temple of Athena Polias, Temple of Hera, the Library and the Gymnasium, the Altar of Zeus soter of great proportions and considered one of the seven wonders of the world. In the lower part of the city you can see the ruins of a Roman Basilica, called "La Roja" because of the color of its bricks. Continuation to Thyatira, a small colony where you can contemplate the Temple of Apollo Tirimnario, God of the Sun and the Great Byzantine Basilica. Continuation to Kusadasi. Dinner and accommodation.

DAY 3: KUSADASI / EFESO / KUSADASI  (desayuno / almurzo / cena )
Breakfast and departure to visit Ephesus founded in the eleventh century before Christ. Its strategic location by the sea makes it a point of communication between East and West, and its great temple dedicated to the Goddess Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the world, attracted numerous pilgrims from the most diverse places, making Ephesus a important, famous and rich city. Visit to the famous Theater, 25,000 people of capacity, pride of the city where I preach San Pablo, still still standing and in good condition; the Agora, the Roman Baths, the Library of Celcius, the Temple of Hadriano, the Church of the Virgin Mary, where the third Ecumenical Council was celebrated in 431. Visit of the Basilica of San Juan, where he was buried. Transfer to hotel, dinner and accommodation.

DAY 4: KUSADASI / LAODICEA / PAMUKKALE  (desayuno / almurzo / cena )
Breakfast and departure to Laodicea that was founded by Antiochus II, and I call him Laodicea in honor of his wife Laodice. It seems that Christianity came to Laodicea because of the preaching of Epaphras, disciple of St. Paul. Visit the ruins of the theaters and a hippodrome. Continuation to Pamukkale. Visit to Pamukkale, famous for its thermal waters, for the petrified calcium waterfalls that form a unique spectacle with its white cotton mountains. Visit the Ancient City Hierapolis, as
its name indicates "Sacred City". Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 5: PAMUKKALE / PHILADELPHIA / SARDES / ESMIRNA / ISTANBUL  (desayuno / almurzo / cena )
Breakfast and departure to Philadelphia, city of Lydia, owes its name to the king of Pergamum Atalo II Filadelfo. Visit and then departure to Sardes, ancient capital of Lydia, became famous for its riches, textiles, carpets and for its temples dedicated to different gods: Artemis, Cybele, Jupiter. Visit the Temple of Artemis, Acropolis, Synagogue, Gym. Continuation to Izmir where they were born, among other figures: Homero, San Policarpo and San Ireneo de Lyon. Polycarp is part of the group of so-called Apostolic Fathers or parents of the church directly related to the Apostles; in the case of San Policarpo, with San Juan Evangelista. The stay of St. John the Evangelist in Ephesus could be the cause of the early Christianization of Smyrna and its surroundings. Polycarp was martyred in Izmir in 156, on his return from Rome. Visit of the Church of Polycarpo and then transfer to the airport for the flight from Istanbul
